Winter is Coming Indeed

When we post items on other social channels, we often use the hashtag #WinterIsComing. It comes every year and is particularly enviable in the summer when it is hot and long and tiring. To wit, I was turned on to an amazing book called Lonely Planet Epic Snow Adventures written by the consummate guidebook publisher Lonely Planet. If you have not seen their books, you are in for a real treat. They have books for all sorts of places and adventures.

This book is incredible. From awesome pictures that get the mind wandering to “epic” stories that get the heart pumping. Personally, I found the book to be very inspirational to go about planning my next adventures. I won’t share that thinking here, but perhaps it will show up in future posts. In particular I liked that the writers were able to get first-hand stories from ski and snowboarding legends. It covers all corners of the world and the imagery really sticks with you. At about 320 pages, it does take a while to get through…but the book is a journey, not a destination. Enjoy!!
