What is it like to Ski in Sun Valley, Idaho?

Sun Valley is a ski resort located in central Idaho, United States. One can get there flying into Haley, Idaho or Boise, Idaho. Likewise, driving to SunValley is not difficult but it does go through some pretty remote areas. As one of the first destination ski resorts in the US (founded in 1936), it is known for its world-class ski slopes and amenities, and is a popular destination for skiers and snowboarders.

The ski resort has a mix of terrain, including beginner runs, intermediate slopes, and challenging expert runs. Some popular runs at Sun Valley include the Seattle Ridge (arguably the best run in the western United States – and no, you cannot see Seattle from there) and Warm Springs areas, which offer great views and a variety of slopes. There are also two mountains at the resort, Bald Mountain and Dollar Mountain, which offer a total of 2,054 skiable acres. Dollar Mountain is great for kids and/or beginners.

One thing for sure, wherever you ski at Sun Valley, your body will feel it the next day. The runs are long and the opportunity to really workout exists.

Sun Valley also offers a variety of non-ski activities, such as snowshoeing, ice-skating, and cross-country skiing. The resort has a lively après-ski scene, with many bars, restaurants, and other entertainment options from which to choose.

“Away from it all”, Sun Valley is known for its scenic beauty and great skiing, making it a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts. Plus there is always the chance to spot celebrities and mega millionaires. Sun Valley is a place, in the summer, where billionaires gather to discuss business and economics.
